Parts We Carry
Parker's houses cluster around a 2005 median build year, which puts most garage doors here at roughly twenty years old with the panels, hinges, and end stiles that came with the house. That's long enough for a dented or cracked panel to be a real headache: the exact colorlok finish or embossment pattern from that era isn't always still in a supplier's catalog. We carry steel panel sections in the standard widths that fit doors from that build window - short, long, and raised-panel profiles - along with matching end caps, struts, and hinge hardware sized for those older sections. When we can't get an exact match, we say so up front and walk you through the two honest options: a close-enough panel on the back or bottom row where it won't be as visible, or a full new door section set so the face reads even. We don't guess and hope the seams disappear.
How We Fix It
We start by pulling the door's model plate, if it's still legible, to confirm the section height and whether the panel is a raised, flush, or ribbed profile before we load anything on the truck. On a 2005-era door, we're usually dealing with the original steel gauge and original hinge spacing, so a mismatched panel is more likely to bind on the track than a newer door would. We true up the track and adjust hinge tension after any panel swap, not just bolt the new section on and leave. If the spring system is original too - and on a door this age it often is - we check torsion tension while we're up there, since a fresh panel on tired springs just shifts the next failure to different hardware. We travel out from Prosper for every job here, so we bring what the model and measurements call for rather than guessing on-site.
Time on the Job
A single-panel swap on a standard double door, with the track already square, is usually a shorter job than most homeowners expect - most of the time is measuring and confirming fit, not the swap itself. Multi-panel jobs, or anything where the original 2005 hardware has to be reset alongside the new section, run longer. We're driving in from Prosper, about 16 miles out, so we build the trip into the appointment window rather than promising a same-hour arrival; if you need the door secured before we can get there, we'll talk you through that on the call. The honest limit here: if more than half the panel face is damaged, or the door's original run is long discontinued, replacing the whole section set costs less in labor than fighting a partial match, and we'll tell you that instead of billing for both.
